One of the bookends is slightly darker in color than the other. These bookends are in very good vintage condition. The metal base, measured from the back is approximately 3 inches by 3 3/4 inches. Even though there is no label or markings on this pair of bookends, we are pretty sure they were made by the Syracuse Ornamental Company out of Syroco wood. They became known for their molded wood-pulp interior decorations and gift and novelty items that resembled hand-carved wood that were made with what they called Syroco Wood.
